How SlipTrack's Prediction Model Works

SlipTrack's game prediction model uses machine learning to forecast the outcome of every NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NCAAB game. The model combines Elo ratings with logistic regression (for win probability) and ridge regression (for predicted margin and total), trained on over 13,000 historical games across three seasons per sport.

Each prediction includes a win probability for both teams, a predicted final score, a model-generated spread, and a predicted total. The model factors in 15 features including points per game, opponent strength, rest days, win streaks, and back-to-back scheduling.
